Cabernet Franc is one of those international varieties which are popular in blends but rarely appear alone. Not so in the Villány wine region, where it has found its natural home, occupying some 14% of the vineyards. The grape, taking root in the calcareous loess and bathing in abundant sunshine, produces a complex wine, full of character yet lively and fresh. Villány Francs are elegant, balanced, finely tuned and many-layered, it allows room to express the personality of the winemaker alongside the innate character of the variety.
This is the first super premium Villányi Franc of the Csányi Winery. Following 30 months of oak ageing it shows intense scents of wild fruit and spices. Its luscious, captivating flavors are accompanied by flavors reflecting the toasting of the oak, with blueberries and raspberries. It is a full-bodied but not cumbersome wine that carries the elegance of the variety. Real Villány wine!
